This timeline is an attempt to clearly separate the women in the Pöyskö (Poysky) family that share the names Elsa and Kaisa.
1830 Birth of Anti Määttä (Sofia Ulriika Määttä's father)
Anti Määttä was born in Kuusamo Village, Oulu County, Finland. He was the second child and second son of Sipi Määttä and Valpuri Hiltunen. They were farmers near Kuusamo Village, Finland.
1837 Birth of Elsa Kaisa Pöyskö (Mother of Johan Pöyskö)
Elsa Kaisa Pöyskö was born on Heikkilä farm, Oulu County, Finland. Daughter of Jaakko Pöyskö, and Caisa Lisa Sorenen. Elsa is first mentioned in the Oulu Lutheran Parish records in 1856, when she moved from Alakiiminki to Oulu. This author has yet to find Alakiimini on the Finnish map.
1840 Birth of Elsa Stiina Heikkinen
Elsa Stiina Heikkinen was born on Heikkilä Heikkilä farm, Oulu County, Finland. Daughter of Lasse Petteri Heikkinen and Kretta Riikka Tormanen. She later marries Anti Määttä and gives birth to Sofia Ulriika Määttä.
1860 Birth of Johan Pöyskö
Johan Pöyskö was born in Oulu Parish, Oulu County, Finland. Son of Elsa Kaisa Pöyskö. Johan later married Kaisa Greta Kauppi Kontinen, and, after Kaisa Greta's death, married Sofia Ulriika Määttä.

Johan joined fellow Finnish emigrants in Astoria, Clatsop County, Oregon, USA, a city that greatly resembled Oulu in temperature, environment, and resources. The difference was the ability for a Finnish laborer to find a good paying job, and being life as a property owner and fullly enfranchised citizen.
