Map of Swedish Expansion, 1617 --1660

The burgundy color is Sweden as it was in 1611. The territorial gains of 1617 -- 1621 are in royal blue (areas of what are now Russia and the Baltic countries). The magenta color in Norway, Denmark, and South of the Baltic Sea were added in 1645 -- 1648. Finally, the light blue land at the tip and western border of Sweden and parts of Western Norway were conquered in 1658.

The large orange area is Sweden as it was in 1524. The yellow Etonia represents land added from 1560 -- 1568. The pink areas in Russia, along the Gulf of Finland and south of the Baltic Sea were added from 1632 to 1664. Finally, the green represents the additions from 1654 -- 1660. These include parts of Norway and Denmark.
